Thesis gains B Corp Certification.

PORTLAND, OR — March 16, 2021 — Thesis, an award-winning digital agency, proudly announces it has earned B Corporation Certification®. B Corps™ are for-profit companies that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. They meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. 

B Corp Certification for businesses is like Fair Trade Certification for coffee. Achieving the highly selective status is a rigorous process. The assessment measures a company’s performance in five categories: governance, workers, customers, community, and the environment. 

“We’re certainly proud of this achievement,” said Ryan Buchanan, Thesis CEO. “Part of what the B Corp community works toward is to reduce inequity and create high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose. This really resonated with us and our endeavor to support racial equity. It also provides a form of validation of our concerted DEI efforts in the local community and our industry as well as enriching our community overall.”

Since 2015, the company has prioritized diversity and equity in its recruiting processes, making inclusion a key element in decisions. Thesis also implemented several internal and external programs, and established an internal DEI team and a wage equity plan. In the fall of 2019, employees created Thesis Foundation, a charitable arm of the agency to expand their commitment to racial and cultural diversity into the community. The mission of the foundation is to close the equity gap in the greater Portland metro area by supporting organizations that engage in issues of racial equity and contribute to underserved communities.

With this prestigious designation, it joins Portland area B Corps such as New Seasons and Tillamook as well as international brands such as Ben & Jerry’s and Patagonia to take part in leading the movement to leverage the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
